Love the outdoor patio! I came here for brunch on a Sunday. I love that it's so chilled and they don't rush you out. I had the crepes, others at my table had the French toast and ham/croissant sandwich. The staff was very nice and laid back.

I was pleasantly surprised dining here. We walked in and the hostess was friendly and walked us back to the backend of the restaurant as we walked past the kitchen. It was kind of a weird set up and they had this back area which I never ever agree to. As it turned out I was right and did not want to be seated in that area and requested to be seated in the front room where we past several 4 top tables. The hostess was friendly and accommodated us as requested and she did a great job doing this without the attitude some hostesses will give you, so kudos to her!! We started out with drinks (of course) and we all shared the Brie en croute which was fantastic. It had a nice funky taste, balanced with fig I think and encrusted in dough. Delish! Two of us had the beef bourginon and it was fork tender and flavorful. It was unlike any beef bourginon I have ever tasted as it came out more like a roast beef with gravy and vegetables and mashed potatoes. Nevertheless it was fantastic. Also had the salmon and as boring as that might seem, it was nicely crusted exterior and perfectly cooked and also delicious. Deserts were really really good: my favorite is always the tarte tatin and Chez's version was authentic and delicious! We also got the chocolate mouse and creme brûlée which were both outstanding. Atmosphere was very lively yet romantic almost. the room was semi dark with these globe like Crystal chandeliers. Oh I forgot, Our server Elijah was super cool and was excellent in recommending dishes and the wine! Thanks Elijah!! Um I'd definitely come back here!

I absolutely loved Chez Moi! I went on a Friday night and we found it to be a great intimate date night spot. They menu had many traditional French items. Everything was very authentic and the staff was very kind. The atmosphere, food, and staff made for an all around awesome experience! Definitely the best French food I have had in Chicago. I recommend getting the escargot. We will be back! Chez Moi will be a staple in our book for sure.

Chez Moi is one of our favorite French restaurants in Chicago. It is local and not owned by a large restaurant group. It's nice to frequent and support such establishments! Located in Lincoln Park, one may find a challenge with parking if planning to drive. Alternatively, Chez Moi can easily be accessible via public transport. Everything is good here, from the onion soup gratinee to the duck a l'orange. Their boeuf bourguignon is excellent but not as good as the one I make (of course :-). Desserts and cocktails are yummy as well. The atmosphere is cozy, perfect for date night or dinner with a friend. The place may be a bit small for large groups. Definitely make a reservation no matter the size of your party. Bon appetit!

For valentine's day, I wanted to book a French restaurant since I really missed the time when we dated in Paris back in 2019 and this would be the first time we are celebrating together after ending our LDR. I ended up making a reservation here at Chez Moi because they have the cassoulet dish, which was one of my favorite dishes I had ordered when I was in Paris. The restaurant is ~10min walk from the Fullerton CTA station located at the corner of N Halsted X W Dickens. We got seated immediately and the restaurant wasn't too crowded. There's even a closet to hang your winter coats! Our server figured out that we speak French right away and switched to French for the rest of the night. Obviously, I ordered Cassoulet Toulousain. The server had warned that the skillet is hot and I accidentally touched it while taking photos and it was HOT! The meat was tender and pulls right off the bone. The herbs added a beautiful fragrance to the already umami sauce and complemented it so well. You could see each ingredient as a whole in the dish i.e. the beans as opposed to the mashed beans I had in Paris (which I prefer more). My partner ordered one of his favorite dishes - Steak Tartare. He loved how each restaurant makes this dish ever so slightly with their own twist in it. He thought it was flavorful and the plating was so colorful. For wine, we got Château Haut-Colombier, Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, 2019. It was quite mellow, dry, not too acidic, and went well with our food. We got Profiteroles for dessert. Needless to say, it was SO GOOD!! Warm crunchy puffs, soft & cold vanilla ice cream, runny & warm chocolate. The sweetness is perfect - not too sweet that it makes the strawberry taste sweet! P.S. You know you chose the right restaurant when your partner starts singing to the French music playing in the background, randomly smiles throughout the dinner, says that it reminds him of home, and makes the first instagram post in 2.25 years about the food (lol).

We celebrated Valentine's Day at Chez Moi this year. They offered valentines specials and regular menu at the same time, and we picked several things from both. It was our first visit, and we were impressed with how good Chez Moi was with cooking birds, seafood, and desserts. I enjoyed the quail very much -- very tender and has a hint of sweetness that I like. The duck is quite unique too. My spouse got the lobster bisque and lobster ravioli, and they were both delicious. I was most happy with the dessert. In general it was a very nice visit. Most of the non-entry items are very affordable and the portion was good too. I'd recommend the restaurant for casual hangout for its chill vibe.

Classy - loved it. Seven of us met here for dinner. First time for most of us. We had a reservation and arrived at opening (5pm). We were seated right away at our prepared table. Water and bread were served immediately. Our server (Yuliya) was very pleasant, was very helpful - couldn't have been better. Pre-dinner cocktails were ordered. Later, wine and dinner orders were taken. Dinner was very good. Several of us had the fish dishes and others had more traditional French dishes. I'm sure we'll be back here - thank you Chez Moi for a nice evening.
